1. Summarize your experience
I've been creating on the web for more than a decade.
Over the years I've been a UX/UI designer, full-stack developer, and technical lead. I help teams deliver using an iterative approach, with a focus on accessibility, performance, and developer experience.
2. Explain the value you add to development teams
I encourage developers to learn language-agnostic problem solving skills and become contributors who can “see around corners”.
I use Agile and Scrum principles right up to the point where they start affecting productivity. There's a line somewhere between too much process and not enough, and I like trying to find it.
3. Talk about your web development journey
I started with design, but was fascinated by code and quickly moved to dev. Working at small agencies and mastering frontend fundamentals, I gained an appreciation for design systems and got a view into how teams plan, develop, and deploy products.
I bring those fundamentals with me as I consult on projects and build full-stack applications with modern frameworks and tools like React, Next.js, Svelte, Vercel, Prisma, and GraphQL (and more 😉).
4. Share some final thoughts
There's no single solution to building any application — knowing how to choose the right tool for the job is more important than mastering any one language, framework, or methodology.
When developing, it helps to ponder the difference between simple and easy, and when managing a team, the difference between being nice and being kind.
5. Provide links and contact information
I'm currently accepting contract dev & consultant work. Connect with me on LinkedIn or reach out via email.
I'm a regular character on the Svelte, Next.js and Frontend Developers Discord servers most working days.
